The Road to Destruction

How did we get here? The once-mighty, morally decent, beacon of light, The United States of America, has found itself lost in a world of hatred, immorality, lust, and violence. There was a time in the not too distant past when we were at the top, the best in the world. Others looked to us for guidance and leadership. God was on our side. What happened? Where did we go wrong? 

The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:1-7: “But know this: Hard times will come in the last days. [2] For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, [3] unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, [4] traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people. [6] For among them are those who worm their way into households and deceive gullible women overwhelmed by sins and led astray by a variety of passions, [7] always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

The goal of groups like the mainstream media, Black Lives Matter and Antifa, is the overthrow of the US government. They spew their lies like venom to anyone they can. Everything is racist: God, white people, western civilization, math, English, history, and government are just a few. Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality are now being taught in our schools in order to indoctrinate our children to spew their propaganda. Our children are taught to hate God and everything American. They also promote the murder of babies, homosexuality with all its perversions, sexual immorality, and all manner of cults. 

The church has been infiltrated with all kinds of false teachers. They have perverted the Gospel and misrepresented God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Ghost. Many denominations have accepted homosexuality as normal and even ordain then to preach. This is an abomination to the true God. There are “preachers” like Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, and others that are only interested in getting as much money as possible. Cults like the Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Seventh-Day Adventists, are growing because the masses have strayed so far from God that they don’t recognize these fakes. 

Look at many of the large Democrat-run cities and states. Seattle, Portland, Chicago, New Your, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are just a few. These places are bankrupt (financially and morally) and are being destroyed from within. The civil unrest is spreading and will only get worse between now and the election. I expect it to explode after the election (as explained in “Elections Have Consequences”).  

Here is the problem, Romans 1:21-32: “For though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became worthless, and their senseless hearts were darkened. [22] Claiming to be wise, they became fools [23] and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles. [24] Therefore God delivered them over in the desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves. [25] They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen. [26] For this reason God delivered them over to disgraceful passions. Their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. [27] The men in the same way also left natural relations with women and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the appropriate penalty of their error. [28] And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right. [29] They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, [30] slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, [31] senseless, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful. [32] Although they know God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die—they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.”

It’s not too late for these people. As Paul told the Corinthians, “Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or males who have sex with males, [10] no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom. [11] And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) 

Our only hope is in Christ Jesus. There is some debate as to when the rapture of the church will happen. The majority of Christians believe it will arrive at the beginning of the seven year tribulation period; some think it will occur after 3 1/2 years into the tribulation, while others believe it will happen at the end. The truth is that if we are indeed in the end times, it will happen soon. Are you ready? 

Do you know that you are a sinner?

Romans 3:10-12: “as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one. [11] There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. [12] All have turned away; all alike have become worthless. There is no one who does what is good, not even one.” 

Do you know there are consequences for your sin? 

Romans 6:23 CSB: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” 

Do you know that God loves you? 

Romans 5:8 CSB: “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus Christ died for you! Jesus’ death paid for the price of your sins. Jesus’ resurrection proves that God accepted Jesus’ death as the payment for your sins.

Do you know that because of Jesus’ death on your behalf, all you have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for your sins – and you will be saved! 

Romans 10:9-13: “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. [11] For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame, [12] since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. [13] For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 5:1 has this wonderful message, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Through Jesus Christ, we can have a relationship of peace with God. Romans 8:1 teaches us, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Because of Jesus’ death on our behalf, we will never be condemned for our sins. Finally, we have this precious promise of God from Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation! “God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. With your help, I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness – the gift of eternal life! Amen!”
